My thoughts on life, design, kitty cats and other such nonsense. Nothing too serious.

A couple of weeks back we decided that it was high time we had a weekend off and had ourselves some fun before everyone finishes up uni and goes their own way. We decided to do this at Alton Towers.

I definitely couldn’t really afford the time but sod it, I went anyway; I wouldn’t have heard the end of it from Emma, Calum and Dave if I hadn’t.

Anyway, I had an absolutely brilliant time - I’ve never been to Alton Towers before. Unfortunately the new ride, Thirteen and Rita - Queen of speed weren’t running due to sporadic power failures but I did get myself on Oblivion, Nemesis and Air. Yays all round - I LOVE roller coasters.

My favourite was Air by a long shot. It was so fun going round flat - almost relaxing! However before it started I somehow managed to stop the ride by not being seated properly. Classic Pablo. In fact, here’s a list of all the nasties / adventures we encountered:

  • Vom on Nemesis - Someone spewed on the seat we were to sit in. Thankfully they cleaned it and sent it round empty so I didn’t actually have to sit in the spew seat (but I DID put my hand in it before they cleaned it up, I didn’t realise….)
  • Restarting Air because I wasn’t strapped in properly. I blame the ride.
  • Our ring on The Rapids got stuck - people kept over taking us while we bobbed around waiting to get on the off ramp. People cheered when we finally made it!
  • We saw Ravi and Chris of Hollyoaks - they were just ahead of us on The Rapids. I couldn’t get my camera out in time unfortunately.
  • The Haunted House broke down while we were in the dark - Emma did not like it one bit. Not. One. Bit.

So yeah, FUN all round. I love adventures away.

We also got a little burn ‘cause the weather was THAT good. Yus.
