My thoughts on life, design, kitty cats and other such nonsense. Nothing too serious.

Snowboarding in the Cairngorm Mountains. Yay.

Had a brilliant (post hand-in) weekend in the north of Scotland. Went to Inverness on the Friday afternoon to meet Emma who had been up working on Thursday. The drive, although long and lonely, was pretty good fun. Just before leaving Dundee I stopped off at the end of Blackness Road near Ninewells Hospital to take some pictures overlooking the Tay. I also gave my recently acquired (read: borrowed from dad) Olympus film SLR. My first time shooting film in good daylight so fingers crossed they turn out ok! Nevertheless, Keiran lent me his Canon 500D (I was borrowing his for it’s film capabiities) so I got some digital shots too. Going along with my cloud love form the previous post:

Once in Inverness I met Emma and we went out for a decent, cosy, pub dinner with a couple of bottles of wine before crashing at our hostel. We stayed at the Inverness Student Hotel which I would highly recommend for those on a budget. Managed to shoot this gorgeous shot of the South face of Inverness Castle on our way home.

The real purpose of my visit, however, was too get my salopettes on and get on a snowboard. Emma is learning just now too so we were both super keen to get out on the slopes. Some Dundee friends were also heading up that day so we were making an outing of it. I was also grabbing at the chance to get some real footage for using in my Uni project. Pictures speak more than words and while I didn’t take many photos here’s a couple of shots from the day.

I’ll upload some of the footage I got of Bonar coming down the slope later on in the week. I think I’m going to have to go back up tho and get some more. Oh well, it’s a hard life ;-]
