My thoughts on life, design, kitty cats and other such nonsense. Nothing too serious.

‘Zoom Phase’ begins.

The Zoom Phase has started. For the benefit of those who don’t know what the project is about (I’m assuming that’s most of the people reading this entry) let me explain:

I am producing an automated camera tracking system which is primarily designed for snowboarders. Using basic hardware, namely a WiiMote and IR LEDs, I aim to produce a remote tripod which will track an IR source worn by the snowboarder and record live footage. I am still undecided as to the final implementation; is this a system which the amateur snowboarder can build themselves or is it something which a resort would install and maintain?

Either way there is still a lot to decide in the way of how the whole thing works and is designed. The Zoom Phase will delve into a much greater depth of the specifics of the project and, hopefully, will uncover the true spirit of the project.

We’ll see…
